Open Role: Event Management & Promotions Intern​

Monthly Stipend: KES 20,000

Period: 6 Months

The Event Management & Promotions Intern at TCG Events will play a crucial role in supporting the Events department with various projects related to event operations and planning. This internship offers a blend of educational and practical experience, allowing the incumbent to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting. The role involves learning and contributing to communications, marketing, analytics, outreach, and corporate/business event planning.

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Event Management, Marketing, Communications, etc.)
  • Previous internship experience at an events company is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies and tools
  • Strong content creation and copywriting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, and adaptable
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as required by event schedules

Job Duties:

  1. Assist full-time staff with day-to-day operations and event planning tasks, drawing from previous internship experience to contribute effectively.
  2. Support speaker outreach efforts by gathering bios, presentation materials, and other relevant information.
  3. Manage and update digital marketing channels, including social media platforms and email campaigns, to promote TCG Events and upcoming events.
  4. Create engaging content for various marketing materials, including social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and press releases.
  5. Assist in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to enhance event attendance and engagement.
  6. Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries about TCG Events, upcoming events, and our offerings in a professional and courteous manner.
  7. Assist in sponsorship development efforts by researching potential sponsors, creating sponsorship packages, and drafting proposals.
  8. Help draft surveys and analyze responses to gather valuable feedback for event improvement.
  9. Participate in venue scouting and evaluation for future events, leveraging digital tools and platforms for research and comparison.
  10. Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Head of Events or senior staff members, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
